Something for nothing

Living in the country may have certain disadvantages, lack of facilities, poor public transport and so on. It also has it’s perks…

I took a little stroll out of the village

Spotted a new crop of conkers

Noted the flooding still evident from the downpours

Produced a bag and began to collect, slowly, painfully. Nettles, prickles and thorns are thriving in this damp weather and all seem to be on or in close proximity to the gooseberries.

Roadsides overgrown

Wild flowers in abundance

and this made tired feet and nettled, prickled fingers worth while.

  4. Lovely photos, Fiona. We love our walks around the farm. When you get to the far end you almost feel like you're on a different planet, it's so peaceful.
