It’s back. Winter that is. Ice, snow, freezing fog. I don’t mind it when we can curl up by the fire to read a book, watch a film or admire the pretty view through the window but when it hits a school day being rural can become fraught with tension. Will the car start? Are the roads gritted? If so, have any particular areas been overlooked? On one occasion last year we skidded down a bank, across a road and stopped inches short of a wooden fence because what serves as a busy road hadn’t been properly tended to. Then I worry will the numpty driving too close behind us be able to stop if we need to break quickly? Will Francis be able to get to his students for their lessons? It always feels like a massive failure to him when he has to rearrange sessions he’s prepared carefully for.
Anyway I’ll leave you with these snaps for the moment. I’m sure there will be more to come with a bit more snow involved soon enough!
